Michelle Wu for Mayor Campaign Collects Over 3,000 Signatures in 12 Hours

Released on: April 27, 2021

Boston, MA – City Councilor and candidate for Mayor Michelle Wu announced that her team of volunteers has collected more than 3,000 signatures, demonstrating her strong grassroots organizing and support. Candidates for Mayor are required to collect a minimum of 3,000 signatures to appear on the ballot and must submit signatures by May 18.

“I’m energized by the reach and enthusiasm of our team of grassroots organizers and volunteers who are ready for Boston to be bold and do more in this incredibly consequential moment,” said Michelle Wu. “We’re building a multigenerational, multilingual coalition across the city, and I’m grateful for every single person who talked to their neighbors, collected signatures, or signed to get us on the ballot today.”

More than 100 volunteers spent the day safely gathering signatures while talking about Wu’s vision for Boston. Collecting more than the necessary threshold of  signatures in just a single day is yet another example of Wu’s grassroots organizing strength and the dedication and enthusiasm of her supporters. Wu’s team submitted 2,200 signatures to City Hall earlier this afternoon and collected another 900 signatures this evening, which will be submitted first thing Wednesday morning.
